ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
Last spring, Mal Lawal invited each person to share the collections that have made an impression and resonated with them throughout their lives. From ancient artifacts and historic collections to contemporary treasures, Qatari art, and quirky trinkets, these community-led contributions shaped on exhibition that represents the shared heritage and passions of a people from Qatar and beyond.
Mal Lawal speaks to the impact every collector and artist can have, and has had, on Qatar’s journey through the past and into the future. It is an exhibition reflective not only on the nation, but a peek into the lives of a people who make up a country.
One of the main collections being shared in Mal Lawal is one presented by the Qatar Museums Authority itself of contemporary Qatari artists, new original works of art being created today.
