Glossary
| Al-Mingla | a kind of gauntlet, which cover the hands, from wrists up to the elbows. Falconers used gauntlet to carry the birds on their hands. |
| Badjir | natural ventilation system. |
| Bughla | traditional ocean-going vessel of the Arabian Gulf that was used for all purposes, including pearl trading. |
| Baggara | It is a dhow with a ranked stem, tall pointed stem and a rudder head. |

| Hayr | Oyster-bed (a place in the sea where oysters are available). |
| Houbara | Bustard bird. It is a strong bird, vigilant, with frightening looks. |

| Satoura | planked bowspirit of Boum (double ended boat). |
| Shmail | udder cover made by camel’s hair or wool. |
| Siyub | responsible persons for holding the life rope tied to the pearl diver. |

| Wakar | the mushroom-shaped seat on which a hawk, sits with a spiked base for fixing in the send. |
