Honorary Award for Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani

H E Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, QMA Chairperson and H E Dr Sheikh Mohamed bin Eid Al Thani are the recipients of Honorary Volunteer Award as part of the Social Development Center (SDC) Volunteer Awards for 2011 which will be held on January 10 at Katara.

Launched by SDC in 1999, the SDC Volunteer Awards are presented to individuals and organisations that actively engage in volunteer work, prioritise public service and constantly strive to have positive impact on their communities.

Sheikha Al Mayassa received this award based on the vital role she plays in volunteer work and schemes across Qatar. In addition to her many initiatives, Sheikha Al Mayassa currently serves as the Chair of the Qatari Foundation Reach Out To Asia (ROTA), a philanthropic non-governmental organisation and is actively involved in enriching cultural and education initiatives across Qatar.
