Qatar Museums Authority sponsored the opening lunch of the 9th World Conference on Sport and Environment, hosted by the Qatar Olympic Committee on April 30th,2011 at the Museum of Islamic Art.

In addition, HE Sheikha Al Mayassa Bint Hamad Al Thani, Chairperson of Qatar Museums Authority received a special award from Jacques Rogge, President of the International Olympic Committee as an acknowledgment from the Olympics community of Qatar’s Olympics achievement and its role in promoting environmental awareness locally, regionally and internationally.

This came at the closing gala dinner at Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art in Education City in honor of the participants of the 9th World Conference on Sport and the Environment.
