Irkayyat Castle (Al-Shamal)
Irkayyat Castle (Al-Shamal) The castle is located 110 kms away from Doha, specifically in the Eastern North of Qatar 5 miles away from Al-Zubara and two kms away from Al-Thaqab. It dates back to the 17th C. The castle has four corner towers: three rectangular towers and one three-quarters circle tower. Some coins were discovered in the castle and they date back to the First Abbasid State. The Castle is built of old natural material such as stones and mud. It was restored in 1988.
